The DNS.PT Association, manager of the Portuguese top-level domain, .pt, has just signed a protocol of collaboration with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology of Angola (MTTI), which aims to support the ongoing process of restructuring management of the top Angolan domain, the .ao, as well as develop technical and legal training actions that enhance the development of skills in the area of ccTLD management and the internet in general.

The collaboration protocol was signed by Luisa Gueifão, chairman of the DNS.PT Association Board of Directors, and Manuel Gomes da Conceição Homem, Secretary of State for Information Technologies of MTTI, today, January 11, in Lisbon, in a ceremony during which the importance of the relationship between the two entities was reinforced.

The partnership with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology of Angola is the result of the effort, trust and credibility in the work developed by .pt and LusNIC, the association that brings together the competent entities for the management, registration and maintenance of Portuguese language ccTLD's. .pt has been a partner of many of LusNIC's other members for the improvement of its domain management systems, as well as the technical training of its staff.

In Portugal, .pt has been supporting the dissemination of the internet, digital skills, the inclusion of citizens and companies, and the digital economy. With the protocol of collaboration with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology of Angola, it is now also intended to contribute to increasing the technological and digital skills of Angolans.
