.pt at the 1st edition of APP START UP

The .pt has been supporting initiatives that promote digital skills among young people and Apps for Good is one of such initiatives. As part of Apps for Good took place yesterday the 1st edition of APP START UP, in Futurália, to create opportunities of contact between the students and incubators, investors and companies, to develop their solution. The .pt will support the development of the winning solution among the 20 attendees at the event.

After the moment of Marketplace and Pitch, took place the brief talk "Are we educating for the future?" with the participation of Luisa Gueifão (.pt), José Vítor Pedroso (Directorate-General for Education), Filipe Almeida (Portugal Social Innovation), Ricardo Marvão (Beta-i) and Stephan Morais (Indico), and with Rute Sousa Vasco from MadreMedia as moderator. 

At the end of the event was announced the winner APP elected by the jury, which will be funded by the .pt. The award will allow the winning team to materialize the great goal of having their APP in production. Cook Wizard was the big winner! The team created the Cook Wizard APP in the 2nd edition of Apps for Good, "which works as a mobile assistant that makes suggestions for recipes, based on the ingredients that are stored in the pantry and/or fridge. In addition, it allows to "mark" the recipes by level of difficulty, time of execution, etc. "

In addition to the winning APP, .pt will also support the development of ABC.Play APP. This APP aims to help children to increase their lexical field autonomously through an oral dictionary.
