.PT and CEGER sign a protocol to reinforce the .gov.pt subdomain

.PT and the Portuguese Government Information Network Management Center's (CEGER) have just signed a protocol that cements a collaboration of decades and aims at the development of safe and resilient management practices of the .gov.pt subdomain.

According to Luisa Ribeiro Lopes, .PT Chairman of the Board of Directors, this collaboration demonstrates the importance of creating synergies with entities recognized at national level: "Being able to share our knowledge with CEGER, in favor of the safer and more efficient use of the internet at governmental level, makes us very confident in our work. The signing of this Protocol formalizes a collaboration of decades, so it is a very important milestone, that reveals the commitment of both bodies in this year of 2020.”. 
 
According to Tito Carlos Vieira, Director of CEGER, "this protocol is an important step, which will allow CEGER, as the managing entity of the .gov.pt subdomain, to consolidate cooperation with .pt and, thus, develop synergies for, more efficiently, increase digital resilience in the national cyberspace gov.pt.”.

Within the scope of its competences, .PT promotes good security practices in Portuguese public and private domains. At the State level, in 2019, the national top-level domain manager had established a collaboration protocol with the Assembly of the Republic to strengthen the management of www.parlamento.pt.
