KSK rollover in .pt

.PT has just concluded the KSK and ZSK rollover, in order to maintain the security level in the .pt zone. These keys sign the DNS chain and keep the internet running, creating a chain-of-trust.

This rollover becomes of special importance since the algorithm has also been changed, from the RSA algorithm to the ECDSA. This new algorithm is one of the most current for DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) signatures, raising the security level of the .PT and joining the .PT to the restricted group of TLDs that use it (18 ccTLD's and 22 of all TLD’s).
