Was signed today, in Lisbon, a cooperation protocol between the DNS.pt and the General Regulatory Authority of Sao Tome e Principe - AGER, which aims the re-delegation with the IANA, transfer, implementation of registration, maintenance and management of the ccTLD .ST. The event was attended by the Minister for Infrastructure, Natural Resources and Environment of Sao Tome e Principe, Carlos Vila Nova.

AGER aims to get the rescue of .ST, the corresponding top-level domain of Sao Tome, with the IANA - Internet Assigned Numbers Authority, while ensuring administrative and technical responsibility of the domain on the Internet, currently managed by a foreign entity.

Recognizing the experience and know how of DNS.PT in the registry, management and maintenance of the ccTLD .PT, the administrative and technical management of several top level domains as .AO, .GW and .CV, the support to other ccTLDs in the same situation and the good institutional relations between these two entities, the DNS.pt will initiate efforts to completing a process that has dragged on for years, with several attempts to rescue the top level domain of Sao Tome e Principe, .ST.

For DNS.PT is another way to value and approach the counterparts in the Portuguese-speaking countries, allowing to enrich this heritage on the Internet.
